I so wanted the galbi jim (braised, not bbq short ribs) but the serving is huge and it didn't make sense as we were catching a show at the nearby Wiltern. The weather was warm making it too risky to leave leftovers in our vehicle for hours. Oh, but I was fine with the galbi tang soup! This place is popular. Will come back!

Fall off the bone Galbi jjim with chewy rice cakes and veggies First time coming to this location since the OG location on 6th is always packed. Came to a somewhat empty restaurant on a Friday early evening, but midway through the meal, the restaurant was packed with a line of people waiting. While the menu has other items such as tangs (hot broth), soo yooks (boiled beef slices), and other specialty dishes, my go to order as Sun Nong Dang is always the spicy galbi jjim. Served on a hot stone plate, it comes sizzling in its chili sauce and loaded with beef ribs, potatoes, green onions, carrots, onions, and rice cakes. Not spicy at all and the chili adds a nice flavor to the dish. Pair the meal with some purple rice and a bottle of soju and you're good to go!

While this branch of Sun Nong Dan doesn't offer free parking, the food is still outstanding. The kimchi and squid side dishes are fresh and delicious, maintaining the high standards of the restaurant. My friend and I decided to try the Oo Guh Ji Galbi Tang, and it did not disappoint. The dish featured two types of tender meat and a rich, flavorful broth with cabbage, complemented perfectly by the side dishes. We also ordered soup dumplings as an appetizer, and they were impressive--the filling and wrapper were perfectly balanced. The service is good and they work very fast when we ask for something. We came during the day so it was not as packed as we thought it will! I love the interior of the place, very spacious. Despite the parking situation, the quality of the food makes this spot worth a visit.

They're famous for the Galbi Jim for a reason guys! This is the best I've EVER had, everything was excellent from the meat to the broth. They even offer purple rice which is a huge bonus for me. I couldn't recommend this place enough if you're looking for some hearty Korean comfort food that's open late!
